BACKLINER NOTES (author unknown): There are so many things which separate people from one another -- background, language, color of skin, prejudices -- that it sometimes seems there will never be peace and harmony. But there are also those strong cords that bind us all together in the bundle of life -- hopes, aspirations, fear, misgivings, guilts, needs -- that are common to us all. Dottie Rambo is a writer and singer who has a talent for writing and singing songs about the things that link us together. Somewhere deep within her being there is a spring of cool, clear water from which she draws for all to drink. Who doesn't wonder about life itself, about the fabric of our society and "who will teach my children's children," about the tender, moving death of those we love, about faint memories and whisperings of the faith we used to sing about in "a hymn from way back home?" Deep themes are the fiber of the songs she writes. Here they are as she feels and sings them. Sometimes songs seem almost human for they respond best for those who know them best and from the lips and soul of Dottie they have an added meaning and depth. Listen as Dottie sings -- to get us all together. |
